The Urban Agriculture and Community Food Systems track within the K4B program integrates Urban Agriculture Practices, Sustainable Food Systems, Community Development, and Environmental Science to prepare students for roles in enhancing food security and sustainability within urban settings. This interdisciplinary track equips students with the knowledge and skills to implement urban farming techniques, create sustainable food systems, promote community-based food initiatives, and address environmental impacts within urban agriculture. Coursework covers urban farming methods, sustainable food production practices, strategies for community engagement and development, and the role of environmental science in promoting sustainable urban agriculture. The program emphasizes rigorous quizzing practices, including hands-on urban farming projects, community food system development exercises, and environmental impact assessments to ensure a practical understanding of urban agriculture and food system sustainability. Upon successful completion, students receive a Specialization Certificate in Urban Agriculture and Community Food Systems, accompanied by a detailed Courses Grade Report and a General Grade. Additionally, students are awarded Course-Specific Certificates in areas such as Urban Agriculture Practices, Sustainable Food Systems, Community Food Development, and Environmental Science for Urban Agriculture.
